The MC-5 serves a variety of applications, functioning as an auxiliary gas for hydrogen flame ion detectors (FID), flame photometric detectors (FPD), and nitrogen phosphorus detectors (NPD). It is also utilized as gas for total hydrocarbon analyzers, atomization gas for liquid chromatography/mass spectrometers, exhaust gas, and finds application in atomic absorption and evaporative light scattering devices. Its adaptability allows simultaneous use by multiple chromatograms.
