Nano fiber electrospinning unit with horizontal and vertical spinning
NFES-043 Electro-spinning equipment is a compact version for Nano fiber Electro spinning. Motorized XY movement provided for the needle tip. The needle tip can be arranged in horizontal or vertical fashion for spinning. Collector bowl for liquid targets is also provided along with the system.
Product Description
The electrospinning unit stands out with its advanced features designed to elevate functionality and performance in nanofiber production. The inclusion of a cabin heating system, capable of reaching temperatures up to 45℃ using a 1000-watt coil heater, ensures optimal conditions for the electrospinning process. Safety and quality are prioritized with features like the Residual Charge Discharge Stick for static removal and a dedicated safety switch that instantly deactivates the high-voltage power supply when the chamber door is opened. The unit enhances visibility with LED cabin lighting and a backlit display, allowing users to observe the needle tip and the electrospinning process with clarity.
Addressing solvent vaporization and equipment cooling needs, the unit integrates an exhaust fan, serving a dual purpose. In emergency situations, an accessible emergency stop button on the control panel enables prompt equipment halting. A noteworthy innovation is the coaxial spinneret, a crucial component enabling the production of both hollow nanofibers and core/sheath nanofibers. This technology opens possibilities for combining different polymer characteristics into a single fiber. Precision is facilitated with a graduation scale on the granite surface in both the X and Y directions, aiding users in marking the positions of the syringe pump and target for accuracy in the electrospinning process. User-friendly software with PC interfacing capabilities streamlines the regulation and monitoring of critical parameters, including rotating mandrel speed, spin duration, syringe pump flow rate, and XY target movement. The unit accommodates diverse spinning needs with rotating mandrel targets of varying diameters, a stationary target, and a reciprocating XY target.
Additionally, the system hood integrates essential components such as an exhaust fan, halogen lighting, and a transparent door, allowing real-time monitoring of the electrospinning process. To ensure safety during operation, a built-in Arc Protection Circuit is incorporated. The electrospinning unit, identified as model NFES-040, is equipped with specifications and features tailored for precise nanofiber production. The high-voltage power supply offers an output voltage range of 0 - 30kV with a maximum current capacity of 0.5mA. Safety measures include a static removal device, a shorting stick, and built-in ARC circuit protection. Supporting both constant current and constant voltage modes, the unit includes an independently controlled dual-channel syringe pump, SPLF4 model, allowing customized fabrications of fibers. These syringe pumps offer flexibility in speed, flow rate, and travel in the X-axis, all controlled via a PC interface. The system features rotating mandrels with speeds ranging from 300 to 4000 rpm, grounded to the high-voltage power supply through a carbon brush contact, ensuring stability. The high-speed rotating mandrel assembly, RM-01, is compatible with MN series mandrels of varying diameters, offering versatility in nanofiber production.
The unit also incorporates a stationary target for collecting electrospun nanofibers, constructed from stainless steel with grounding capabilities. The needle and coaxial spinnerets facilitate the smooth flow of nano fibers, with the needle spinneret utilizing flat-tipped metal needles for enhanced fiber flow. To maintain a controlled environment during electrospinning, the unit is equipped with a fume hood (FH-04) featuring an enclosed chamber, exhaust fan, optional ducting for connection to an onsite exhaust duct, and an in-built heater with precise temperature control. Transparent glass windows, high-intensity lighting, and a granite tabletop ensure visibility, ease of cleaning, and durability. Accessories such as normal glass syringes, glass syringes with tube connectors, spare needles, and Teflon tubes are included. For added functionality, an optional UV curing lamp, emitting a 10W 254nm UV light, can be added to cure spun fibers, with safety features such as UV-reflective coatings on glass surfaces and an ON/OFF switch for control. These comprehensive features collectively position the electrospinning unit as a versatile and precise tool for nanofiber production, meeting the demands of advanced applications.
