The electrospinning unit is meticulously designed to elevate its functionality and precision in nanofiber production. Safety and operational excellence are paramount, with features such as the Residual Charge Discharge Stick in the chamber to counter static, a safety switch deactivating the high-voltage power supply upon door opening, and LED cabin lighting with backlighting for clear observation of the needle tip and electrospinning process. Dual-purpose functionality is achieved through the integrated exhaust fan, serving both solvent vaporization and equipment cooling post-spinning. An emergency stop button on the control panel ensures rapid shutdown in critical situations. To enhance accuracy and repeatability, a graduation scale is seamlessly integrated into the granite surface, enabling users to mark positions for the syringe pump and target in both the X and Y directions.
The unit's user-friendly software facilitates seamless PC interfacing, empowering users to regulate and control various parameters, including rotating mandrel speed, spin duration, and syringe pump flow rate. Further versatility is achieved with rotating mandrel targets featuring a 75mm diameter, catering to diverse applications. Operating in both constant current and constant voltage modes, the power supply includes built-in ARC Circuit Protection, enhancing safety. A Static Removal Device in the form of a Shorting Stick is included to manage static charge. The single syringe pump, SPLF-ES1 model, provides flexibility in controlling speed and flow rate, accommodating various syringe materials and offering a flow rate range from 0.4 µl/hr to 650 ml/hr (with a 5ml Syringe). The syringe holder, designed from insulating material, ensures safe operation under high voltage conditions. A rotating mandrel with a 75mm diameter facilitates the creation of a continuous mesh of nanofibers within a speed range of 300rpm to 4000rpm, optimized for electrospinning applications. Grounding to the high-voltage power supply is achieved through a carbon brush contact, ensuring stability with a speed deviation of +/- 1%. The FH-05 model fume hood, emphasizing safety and environmental control, creates an enclosed atmosphere to shield users from pollutants generated during electrospinning. This hood, available with various exhaust options, integrates a common electronic control unit for streamlined system management. It features transparent side walls and a front door shield made of float glass for efficient process monitoring, coupled with high-intensity lighting for visibility.
