Introducing our Compact DC Magnetron Sputtering Coater, a purpose-built system designed for efficient deposition of conductive gold films onto SEM samples. This compact coater offers a versatile solution for metallic coatings, including gold, platinum, and silver, making it an ideal choice for a variety of applications.
Operational simplicity is a key feature, with an input voltage of 220 VAC, frequency of 50/60Hz, and power consumption of 200W (total power not exceeding 1000W, including the vacuum pump). For compatibility with 110VAC power sources, a 1000W transformer with a 15 A fuse can be separately acquired. The coater ensures precise control over the coating process, offering adjustable sputtering current within a range of 0 to 50 mA, indicated by the digital current meter. Over-current protection is integrated for added safety.
The coater's specimen chamber, constructed from quartz glass, accommodates 2" diameter samples, with height adjustability from 30 to 80 mm relative to the target. The 2" magnetron sputtering head includes a manually operated shutter for target protection. A digital vacuum pressure meter monitors vacuum pressure, and the coater achieves an ultimate vacuum pressure of 1 Pa with a mechanical pump (not included).
Fine-tuning the sputtering time from 1 to 120 seconds ensures precise control over film thickness, catering to various application needs. The coater is equipped with a 1/4 Swagelok-type tube fitting for inert gas cylinder connection, along with a metering valve on the front panel for precise gas input adjustment.
Supplied with a 50mm Dia. x 0.12mm gold target boasting 4N purity, the coater offers optional targets for purchase, including gold, platinum, and silver, all sharing the same dimensions and purity levels. Notably, the coater is not suitable for coating lightweight metallic materials like aluminum, magnesium, zinc, or carbon targets due to its low energy output.
