16-Mercaptohexadecanoic acid
Product Description
16-Mercaptohexadecanoic acid is a long-chain alkanethiol with a carboxylic acid group at one end and a thiol group at the other. It is used in the formation of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on gold surfaces.
Application
This compound is primarily used in surface chemistry for creating self-assembled monolayers, which are important in biosensor development, surface modification, and nanotechnology applications.
